When choosing a solar system, there are three key areas to research
Products, Installation and Back Up Service.
Products
Based on our experience of being in the Solar Industry for a number of years, there is a small range of products we prefer to use based on their performance and reliability.
However, if you have a specific product in mind that you prefer to use, then we are happy to use another product provided it is on the Clean Energy Council list of approved products certified for use in Australia.
Installation
Installation is just as important as the products used.
A poorly installed system is the most common problem with a cheap Solar system and can cause many problems.
Broken tiles and a leaking roof are the most common problems, but also the risk of cables shorting out and causing a fire is also a very real threat.
At the very least, a poor installation may cause the system to under produce or stop working.
Back Up Service
When you pay for a Solar system, you need to make sure that if ever there is a problem, you can be sure that someone will come out free of charge to look at your system.
Many times, we have had calls from people who have had the Inverter fail and the system is still under Warranty, but they can’t get hold of the company that they bought the system off.
Pricing a Solar System
Choosing the cheapest system is like buying a cheap car
and expecting it never to break down.
Unfortunately, there are a host of Solar Companies new to the market advertising cheap systems.
Some might even use good products, but with buying a cheap system,
the writing is on the wall.
